Summerlee Heritage Park

Summerlee Heritage Park is a museum of social and industrial history. The aim of the museum is to preserve and interpret the history of the local iron, steel, coal and engineering industries, and of the communities that depended upon them for a living. Summerlee has Scotland's only working electric tramway, a reconstructed underground coal mine, miners' rows which shows the domestic life of miners' families from 1840 to 1960, the archaeological remains of Summerlee ironworks and an exhibition hall with displays of working machinery.
